125 years of having our back, establishing fair wages, and suitable working conditions– IATSE has been a constant reliable staple in our industry for as long as we can remember. The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) was established on July 17th, 1893. This historic labor union represents over 140,000 technicians, artisans and craftspersons in the entertainment industry, including live theatre, motion picture and television production, and trade shows. Since its inception, the leaders of IATSE understood the importance of set technicians and artists and the way they craft the movie magic we see before our eyes everyday. On IATSE’s 125th anniversary year, we celebrate the union’s many achievements and successes, as well as the barriers they have broken.
LiteGear is proud to have been a signatory IATSE 728 shop since 2010! We are honored to be celebrating our 8th year together. In Spring 2018, we officially became a signatory IATSE 52 shop. We are thrilled to be a part of the New York community. Our founders, Al DeMayo and Mike Bauman, both industry veterans, realized early on the importance of teaming up with IATSE 728 and IATSE 52.
We are especially proud that working alongside the members of both of these great unions makes us the ONLY bi-coastal union signatory movie & TV lighting company! We look forward to a bright future withthese two strong chapters of IATSE, the union behind entertainment.
